Trivium, Avatar, and Light The Torch continued ‘The Sin and the Sentence World Tour’ tour through Seattle, Washington on Monday, October 29th, 2018. With Trivium’s vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy having to jump off tour to be with his wife for the delivery of their twins, the bands corralled together to perform a special live show to a sold out Showbox SoDo. Fans attending shows for the remaining tour dates have been given a once in a lifetime treat with Howard Jones (Light The Torch), Johannes Eckerstom (Avatar), and YouTuber Jared Dines stepping in to help with the remaining dates of the tour.

Opening band Light The Torch, based out of Los Angeles, California primed the packed house played songs off of their debut album Revival which was released in early 2018. No newcomers to the music industry, the band consists of music vets vocalist Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage, Blood Has Been Shed), guitarist Francesco Artusato (ex-All Shall Perish, The Francesco Artusato Project), bassist Ryan Wombacher (Bleeding Through), and drummer Mike Sciulara (Extinction A.D.)

Consisting of members Eckerstrom (vocals), John Alfredsson (drums), Jonas Kungen Jarlsby (guitar), Tim Ohrstrom (guitar), and Henrik Sandelin (bass), Sweden based Avatar kept the show alive and going with their beloved theatrical, conceptual performance playing fan favorites such as Smells Like a Freak Show, Avatar Country, Let it Burn,Hail The Apocalypse and Get In Line. The band formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2001 and released their seventh album Avatar Country in January 2018. Monday also marked the launch of their Kickstarter campaign for Legend of Avatar Country described on their Kickstarter as A film featurette based on the album Avatar Country by the band Avatar the campaign had all or nothing goal of $50,000 by November 18th, 2018 and has already reached $130,349 at the time of publication of this article. The Kickstarter campaign goes into detail of the band’s vision to tell the story of the band. Noticeably missing from this tour was The King’s Throne, which seems to have found its way to their Kickstarter pledge rewards.

Closing the night, Florida based Trivium gave their special lineup performance with Jones, Dines, and Eckherstom stepping in to support members Corey Beaulieu (guitar, vocals), Paolo Gregoletto (bass, vocals), and Alex Bent (drums) during Heavy’s absence.
