Sydney’s Arteries are gearing up to release their long awaited debut album, This Will Destroy Us on September 29
The band have also been confirmed as part of Unify 18 in January 2018!
Today the band release the music video for the track Prisoners taken from TWDU
Watch It Here!
The characters presented in the video are metaphorical prisoners of their own making in a Bret Easton Elis-esque world.
A well presented, professionally successful man has a double life as an ice addict living out of a run down apartment. The ‘Prisoners’ video follows him in his loop of meth abuse, flashbacks, loss of memory and hallucinations that blend his two lives together and suggest a distorted reality. After finding a purse at his house he spins into a state of psychosis, guilt and self loathing that control his life.
The clip ends with the character returning to his bleak routine, suggesting he’s stuck in a perpetual loop.
Arteries guitarist Braithe Selby comments:
The whole experience opened our eyes to capturing the bleak and dark themes of ‘Prisoners’. We all are incredibly amazed with the result and the portrayal of a  distorted reality for many people in the world today.
We all had a blast with this one and can’t wait for you to witness our latest video!
Melding melody and melancholy by way of dual eight-string guitars, Arteries are more than the mere culmination of their influences.
Turning maniacal bombardment into rewarding and memorable jams, these purveyors of off- kilter riffing can have you analysing their time signatures while banging your head at the same time.
Arteries released their debut self-titled EP in 2013 and since then have worked their way to solidifying a position as one of Australia’s premiere metal acts.
The band have a long list of international supports to their name; opening for the likes of Bleeding Through, Norma Jean, Protest The Hero, Earth Crisis, Make Them Suffer, Northlane
and most recently Ocean Grove and Architects in May 2017. Arteries also toured nationally with Raised Fist at the end of 2016 which brought them a whole new wave of national fans.
Arteries recently appeared at Brisbane’s Dead Of Winter Festival and will announce a full album tour soon.
This Will Destroy Us will be released on September 29 on DigiPak CD, 12” Vinyl and Bundles
